FAKE ORGASM Jo Sol’s new  film is coming to the cinemas

After the success of Taxi Thief, Fake Orgasm premieres on December 3: the new and expected film by the director Jo Sol.

Zip Films produced the controversial documentary that reflects on the social construction of gender and identity, a poignant speech that breaks stereotypes and brings us closer to new paradigms of sexuality.

The film has been presented in numerous international festivals, has received recognition from audiences and critics, winning awards "Best Film ZonaZine" at the Festival de Málaga and "Best Sound" at  the  Muestra Cinematográfica del Atlántico.

CHOW YUN FAT WILL STAR “DANCING WITH STRANGERS”

Zip Films will co-produce with Germany, China and USA a film written and directed by Ankie Lau with Chow Yun Fat in the main role. Dancing with strangers is about a Broadway dancer who returns to Germany and Hong Kong to find his roots. Shooting is scheduled to start in autumn 2010.

Henning Carlsen will direct this international coproduction (Mexico, Spain and Denmark), screenplay adaptation by the acclaimed Oscar winner Jean-Claude Carrière.

Shooting is set to begin October 26th in Puebla, Mexico. The budget is approximately 7 million dollars and financing is already finalized. Zip Films, Memorias del Sabio Producciones, Mercer Films, Crone Films and GC Corp., are all set to produce. Ricardo Del Río (Kill Bill Vo.2, Fast and Furious) will exec produce.

ZIP TAKES STAKE IN “BETSY AND THE EMPEROR”

Zip Films co-produces and acquires the rights for Spain, Portugal and Andorra of Betsy and The Emperor, big-screen adaptation of a Staton Rabin’s novel, produced by Killer Films (U.S.). John Curran (The Other Side of the World, The Painted Veil) will direct the Oscar winner Al Pacino in the role of Emperor Napoleon. The production has an estimated budget of $ 20 million and the shooting is scheduled for early 2010.

SCREENINGS OF “DARK BUENOS AIRES” IN LOS ANGELES

Zip Films, together with the Talent Agencies William Morris-Endeavor Entertainment and International Creative Management, have organized in Los Angeles two screenings of Dark Buenos Aires, the new feature film from Ramón Térmens. Dark Buenos Aires will open in Spanish theatres in 2009.

The screening of the film, which was shot in Barcelona and Argentina, produced by Jordi Rediu & Norbert Llaràs in a co-production with 1971 CINE, will take place on the 8th and 17th of July.

“WORMS” STANDS OUT AT PARIS' NEW SPANISH FANTASY FILM MEETING

Denis Rovira's "Worms," a social-issue survival thriller produced by Jordi Rediu & Norbert Llaràs-Zip Films, is one of the standouts at Paris' New Spanish Fantasy Film Meeting. The Meeting, a showcase for debut feature projects from young Spanish genre directors, is organized by ”Espagnolas en Paris”, and is backed by Spain's ICEX Foreign Trade Institute, Universcine and the Ile de France Film Commission.

“BLANK BULLET” STARTS FILMING IN ISRAEL

THE ANARCHIST’S WIFE, a coproduction between Spain, Germany and France will be presented on October 25th, within the Official Selection of the VALLADOLID INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL. The screening will be attended by the actors Juan Diego Botto, María Valverde and Irene Montalà, the directors Marie Noëlle and Peter Sehr and the producers Jordi Rediu and Norbert Llaràs.
